Elliot Feltman (a.k.a. Krembo), president
of Blue Monkey Sideshow, is originally from The Bronx, N.Y. He earned
his B.A. in psychology and anthropology at S.U.N.Y. at Albany and his
Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Indianapolis.
He has been juggling internationally for 20 years.* He has worked streets
and festivals in Egypt, Israel, Switzerland, France, Spain, Germany,
Austria, Denmark, the Netherlands and both coasts of America.
As a zookeeper in Israel, Elliot was responsible for the daily care
of the carnivores. Back in the states, he was employed by Mrs. Fields
Cookies, Inc., in 1982 as a multi-state manager, overseeing San Francisco
operations and opening new locations in Portland, Oregon. Elliot later
transferred to New York City to manage multiple sites including the
World Trade Center, Rockefeller Center, and three locations on Broadway.
Pursuing his passion to aid in the development of challenged students,
Elliot was awarded the Bronx Rookie Teacher of the Year in 1988.
As an Occupational Therapist, he specialized in both geriatric and school-age
children. His focus is on visual/spatial skills and bilateral integration,
using both juggling and magic as therapeutic tools. He also teaches
workshops in juggling and motivational thinking.
As president of Blue Monkey Sideshow, Elliot's main thrust is securing
national recognition and corporate support. Onstage he is Krembo, talker
extraordinaire, weaving together the bizarre and the true, juggling
knives as well as balls and clubs, swinging fire, balancing immense
objects upon the tip of his nose, showing off hat tricks, subjecting
his flesh to the dog food can of death and placing himself in peril
just to please the crowd.
* Yes, his arms are very tired.
