Alan Rice, (also known as Mojo the Human Freak,) grew up on the last five acres of his grandfather’s farm in Southern Indiana. He graduated from Bloomington High School in 1991 where his favorite subject was anthropology. His woodlands experience made him an energetic and inspiring assistant scout master during his senior year. Alan then drew on his various childhood hobbies and opened a custom leather shop, Fit To Be Tied. He has worked briefly as a security officer, baker and for several years as the maintenance supervisor for various health clubs. In the 1990's he began experimenting with Performance art, and then began exhibiting his exotic strength skills in nightclubs and private parties. His first show with the Blue Monkey Sideshow was at the Indiana State Fair in 2000, and now they don’t leave home without him. An accomplished photographer and mixed media artist, Alan’s work can be seen at various Indianapolis locations. He also took most of the pictures used on this website. As Mojo, he performs the human pin-cushion, non-traditional strongman feats where he lifts bowling balls, swings barstools and pulls wheelchairs in unusual ways, and is also a master of the shrinkwrap.
